Shortly after partnering with Quail Run Vineyards to make our first vintage in 1996, the Griffin Creek Merlot was named Best Red Wine in Oregon by Wine Spectator Magazine. On the Nose: Opening with a jammy nose of chocolate-covered blueberries, blackberry cobbler and black cherry, the bouquet continues to unfold notes of violets, baking spices and anise.
On the Palate: The velvety palate offers dark fruit flavors of plum, currant and brambles with sandalwood and cigar box accents layered on top of silky tannins and a plush, lingering finish.
Food Pairings: Pan-seared duck with blueberry sauce, Mediterranean lamb burgers, meatloaf, beef stew and wood-fired pizzas.
Peak Drinkability: 2020 - 2026.
